Explore Marlo Township

Marlo is the place where the Snowy River flows into the sea, after working it's way through a delta of channels, islands and shallow lake systems. It's safe to say that most people visiting Marlo wish they lived there: a small friendly seaside village with  just a cafe, pub, general store and views out over the Snowy River Estuary and the ocean. A ten minute drive along the Snowy River connects it to the 'big town' of Orbost, leaving Marlo free to be the place for walking along the beach, fishing, a sunset drink or just a little solitude overlooking the water.

Visit the town's Facebook page for pictures and the 'local vibe', and find somewhere to stay on our Where to Stay page.

Marlo has two boat launching ramps: one next to the jetty at the end of Argyle Street ( the closest Marlo gets to a 'main street', plus the Brodribb River boat ramp 1.5 km away at the end of Old Marlo Road. For more about boating and fishing around Marlo head to our Boating and Fishing page.

Just a few hundred metres from the jetty is Marlo Angling Club, a community owned hall in a million dollar location right on the water. Meet the locals on one of their friendly community Fish and Chip nights!

Marlo is fabulous for heading out for a walk:  a stroll beside Marine Parade with views over the Estuary, walk the estuary beach or take a longer walk out to Frences Narrows on the Estuary View Walk. Find more information about these on our Walk page.
